This breeding of two fine Deutsch Kurzhaar should produce high drive yet cooperative dogs that excel in the field, water, and forest. These pups should also develop early and have correct conformation.
This will be Vita’s second, and last, litter. Although she is not yet 5 years old, she will retire from motherhood to spend the rest of her life as our pal and hunting partner. Her first litter, which was our “C” litter, was very successful. Those pups are now nearing 2 years of age, and are continuing to improve. We were pleased that they went to good homes where they are flourishing, and we love to receive reports of their latest accomplishments.
So with this being Vita’s last breeding, we felt extra pressure to select the correct stud dog. We strive for continuous improvement, so careful consideration was given to many potential mates. After narrowing down the candidates, I made a trip to Chicago to see the dogs in person and watch them work. After that, the choice was clear: Xambos von Neuarenberg was the best mate for Vita.
Xambos is a striking and athletic male Kurzhaar. A son of Quick KS vom Riverwoods and Nelli KS von Neuarenberg, he is intelligent, trainable, and personable. In the field, he is fast and agile, hunts with a high head and searches in a manner appropriate to the cover. Additionally, he is obviously working for and with his handler to produce game. In the water, he is an enthusiastic and strong swimmer, and performs an intelligent search. He is a natural blood tracker and recently completed the 20 hour Blood Track with a Prize 1.
Vita is an elegant female of good size and substance. A daughter of Quent vom Wittekind and Asta von der Elbaue, she is typical of the excellent dogs that resulted from the three breedings of Quent and Asta. As a young dog, she showed tremendous drive and desire, and was steady to wing and shot before she was 12 months of age. A natural blood tracker, reliable retriever, tireless hunter and terrific house dog, she continues to be a joy to work and live with.
In structure, temperament, and performance, Xambos and Vita are a good match. They strengthen each other’s qualities and complement each other very well. Additionally, there is some previous proof that the genetics behind them will mesh well; Xambos’ maternal grand dam is Alline KS von Schwarzen Adler, while Vita’s sire is Quent vom Wittekind. When those two dogs were bred together, the result was the “R” litter von Neuarenberg, which produced two noted and successful DK’s: Rocky KS von Neuarenberg and Resi Ks von Neuarenberg. Rocky is now one of the top sires in Germany.
This combination should produce high drive dogs that develop early, are trainable, cooperative, and adept at every aspect of performance required of a versatile hunting dog. Additionally, we expect the pups to mature into elegant and athletic Kurzhaars.
